The Dance Shop has been open for business since August 2007 and is successfully filling what was a huge gap in the market – not only in the midlands region but further afield.

Proprietor Jenny Cadwaladr has been involved in dance since early childhood courtesy of the fact that her mother has a dance studio. At the crossroads of leaving school and having to decide on a career path Jenny took the academic option of business economics and went on to work in corporate pensions – a far cry from the world of a dancer. After a career break to have children and wanting to return to work again – Jenny decided to combine her love of dance with her business experience and set up The Dance Shop.

They say find a job you like and you will never work a day in your life and that is precisely what Jenny has done. She uses her experience to advise on fit and flexibility of dance shoes and dance wear. This expertise particularly comes to the fore when fitting pointe shoes for ballet. Word has been spreading and dancers travel to Mullingar from all over the country to take advantage of the personalised fitting service provided.

The Dance Shop is well and truly on the map for the dance community of Ireland. Jenny looks forward to continuing to expand her business over the coming years.
